Elgol and the Cuillins

£115.00

printed on C-Type Fuji Pearl

Description

These ruins were once part of a traditional croft house overlooking the Cuillins from Elgol, it is reputed that Bonnie Prince Charlie himself stopped here when fleeing Culloden to seek shelter and hospitality from the crofter.  In fear of their own safety, however, the crofter turned the Prince away to seek alternative accommodation for the night in a cave.

Little remains of the old house now, just a low stone wall forming the outline of a very basic shelter.
