I can feel autumn approaching now, the world is starting to wind down, slow down and prepare for the darkness. I love this time of year, the colours as the leaves shift from greens to reds and golds. The chill in the air and the misty mornings. It is a time when the otherworld feels tantalisingly close, a time of stories and tall tales. A time to create.
This next couple of months are the most anticipated in my calendar for landscape photography, the sun starts to drop to a lower position in the sky giving warmer hues to the light and longer shadows even in the middle of the day, even more so when there is sunshine breaking through a storm heavy sky!
Perhaps this wasn’t the month to go heavy on monochrome films stock. I have put the order in for my supply, to be honest I think I have bought too much as I planned on allowing a roll of 120 and a roll of 35mm per week, but I have 5 rolls of 35mm and 6 of 120 coming! The emulsions are quite exciting though, and I may supplement it yet with a few rolls of colour film too. I am absolutely desperate to try some of the experimental and unusual rolls of film but want to get my process much more reliable before dropping a £30 roll of film into a camera that gets 4 frames per film and then ruining the lot!
